After breakfast, leave Fes behind and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its European-style architecture and lush surroundings. Stop in Azrou to see the famous cedar forest, home to playful Barbary macaques. Continue to Midelt for lunch before arriving in Merzouga by late afternoon, where your camel trek into the Sahara begins. Experience the thrill of riding a camel across the vast desert, with the sun setting behind the dunes as you make your way to your camp.
Spend the day exploring the vast desert, visiting a nomadic Berber village, and enjoying local hospitality. Take a 4×4 excursion to visit the Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa musicians, and learn about the unique culture and history of the region.
