On the 4th day of your 12 day tour from Casablanca, we will depart from Chefchaouen and travel to the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved mosaics and historic ruins. Next, stop in Meknes (located just a 30 km drive away), one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Visit the grand Bab Mansour Gate, Heri es-Souani granaries, and the lively Lahdim Square. On the day 8th of this 12 day Morocco tour from Casablanca, we’ll leave the Sahara desert behind and head to the city of Rissani, which still a major trading center in Tafilalet, if our tour coincides with the day markets (large souk) that are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays we will have the chance to visit the souk.

Wander through Morocco’s largest traditional souks, including Souk el Attarin and Souk Chouari, to shop for authentic treasures. Savor a delicious lunch near Jemaa el-Fna before continuing to the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, Marrakech’s largest. The day concludes with a transfer to your accommodation, though you are welcome to explore Jemaa el-Fna on your own and immerse yourself in its unique charm.
After breakfast, we continue our trip to Essaouira, a Moroccan coastal city once known as Mogador, with its rich history influenced by Roman, Phoenician, and Portuguese civilizations. Along the way, we’ll stop to see goats climbing argan trees in search of nuts and enjoy panoramic views, as well as visit Women’s Cooperatives of Argan to learn about the oil’s uses in cosmetics, cooking, and medicine. Upon reaching Essaouira, a charming white-walled town on the Atlantic coast and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will explore the fishing port, ancient ramparts with cannons, and the old Medina. Known as the “City of the Wind,” Essaouira also attracts surfers from around the world. After enjoying lunch at a traditional restaurant with fresh fish, we will return to Marrakech in the late afternoon, where you can spend the night in your Riad and revisit the vibrant Jamaa El Fna.
